The Johnny Decimal index for this vault. One line per area, category, and ID.

Rules of the system

Every ID is unique across the whole vault — a number is never reused, even after its folder is retired.
Nothing lives deeper than an ID folder plus one level of working subfolders (units, drafts, attachments).
New notes start in 00_INBOX and get filed to an ID from this index; they never get dumped loose into an area root.

00–09 System

00_System — vault administration: this JDex.
- 00.00 — JDex (this file), the master index of every number in the vault.
- 00.01–00.08 — retired (formerly MOC notes; their connections now live as ## Related sections directly in the linked notes — see graph view / backlinks).
00_INBOX — capture zone; unfiled new notes land here before being given an ID.

Cross-vault threads

Instead of MOC hub notes, cross-area connections are wired note-to-note via ## Related sections and surface in Obsidian's graph view and backlinks pane. The main threads:

Reserved / free numbers

Areas 10–19, 40–49, and 50–59 are unused and free for future areas.
Sophomore slot 81.08 is free (81.01–81.07, 81.09 taken).
Junior slots 81.11–81.19 are all taken; the next junior-adjacent number would spill into 81.90+ admin space, so prefer a new decade if needed.

Flagged for later

WHAP (world history) notes are still filed inside 81.15_AP_Economics/WHAP/ — they belong in their own course ID.
81.28_US_Immigration_Honors/3_Early_Immigration/K Value Calculation.md is a stray math note misfiled in a history unit.
Loose unfiled notes sit at the root of 65_Applications: CAPS.md, UC PIQs.md, College Kick-Off 2.md, Gus Feedback.md, Deepak Dinner Invitees.md — file into 65.x subcategories.
Robotics is split between 81.09_Robotics (sophomore) and 81.19_Clubs/Robotics (junior) — consider consolidating.
83.22_CS70/Manifest.md is empty and 83.23_Math_54/ has no content yet — placeholders for Spring 2026.
_to_delete/ at the vault root holds emptied wrapper folders from the renumbering, awaiting manual deletion (could not be deleted remotely).
