discussions are twice a week, you should attend both of them.
attendance is optional, and there is incentive, where you get homework drops.
1 hw drop for free
5 disc is 2 hw drops
10 is 3 hw drops
we are 10-11 in wheeler 108
Different tutors/TAs teach slightly differently. Go to the session that matches you best.
general format is like a mini lecture, the main focus on the discussion worksheets, solns will be posted on the website at the end of the day.
complex to real numbers, its like 2 directions, one in the real and one in the complex
if z = a+bi
Re(z) = a Im(z) = bi
visually, i is a rotation. so the magnitude is just sqrt(a^2 + b^2)
the conjugate is where we flip the sign. its either an asterix or a line on top, show an example here.
for complex numbers, we just add the real and the imaginary separately, it works,
for multiplication, we just distribute and then calculate the factors individually.
complex numbers proveide a new separate axis to work with.
